    2024 Air Almanac now available
    From: Rafael C. Caruso
    Date: 2024 Feb 15, 15:21 -0800

The last time I checked, probably in mid-January, the US Naval Observatory's Astronomical applications department had not posted the 2024 Air Almanac in their website; the lastest available edition was the one for 2023.  I presume the late appearance of the 2024 edition may be due to a lack of a great demand for it. I wonder if it's used mainly by sailors who practice celestial navigation and prefer to use the Air Almanac rather than the Nautical Almanac. I would be interested in knowing if celestial navigation is still being used for air navigation.

The 2024 Air Almanac may be downloaded free of charge from the following Naval Observatory's web page: https://aa.usno.navy.mil/publications/aira

    Best, Rafael
