A10 sextant for sale

I am watching an A12 bubble sextant that is for sale locally. I have asked the seller several questions but he has not yet responded. I am prepared to pay the asking price if I am confident that the sextant is working.
In one of the photos there is what seems to be a bubble chamber with a bubble in it. Is that correct? Do 21st century batteries fit or will some modifications be needed? I understand that batteries are not need for daytime sights.
I have downloaded the A12 instruction manual that Frank placed online.
Any comments and advice will be most welcome.
