Hi Mike,
I found your notes on the net. I am also interested in vintage navigation devices and have purchased a B&L sextant A-8A. Of course it doesn't have any of the accessories you mentioned.
A while back I purchased an azimuth circle on eBay. It was advertised as "in good condition" but the prisms and bubble levels were missing. They had been "liberated" by some technician in the repair shop.
Do you know the battery voltage of the A-8A and the polarity of the electrical system?
