I selected the "pay  by credit card "option. I entered my card details but could not find a "pay now" button. The only button said "save details and create pay pal account". I have no intention of creating a paypal account so at this stage I cannot  contribute. I will have another look at the process to see if I am missing something.

Note that I have plenty of experience of paying online by credit card , including internationally. I currently have several books in my Abe Books cart and as soon as I press "pay" the books will be on their way to me.  But of course Abe does not insist on using Paypal.

I am amused at the suggestion that I mail a cheque. About two years ago NZ banks stopped processing cheques and it must  be several decades since I last wrote one. Not negotiable,  Account Payee Only etc etc.

Several years ago I made a payment to Clockwork Mapping. Maybe I set up a temporary paypal account??? I will think about it - maybe I can set up a fictitious account? If you get a payment from Outer Mongolia you will know that it is probably me. (Paypal will probably get upset and tell me that I am in NZ.....)
