Please reply with details for a little survey. I considered making this private or at least not in public NavList messages, but I decided others might be interested.
Visit speedtest.net (also known as "Ookla speedtest"). After it sets up, click "Go" and let it do its thing. It will report the ping time, download speed, and upload speed. You'll see something like the dial display in the image below (this is my internet connection via WiFi). Just report your three numbers: ping, download, upload. Accuracy is not critical since these numbers change depending on whether your connection is hardwired (ethernet) or WiFi and depend on the WiFi radio band in use and they also can vary with time of day if you're sharing internet. And please note: I'm especially interested in those of you who have low numbers! The goal here is to find out what technologies are acceptable for NavList interaction. And mostly this depend on download/upload speeds.
Also, please indicate whether you pay for internet by bandwidth or by time, or if you pay a flat fee (or no fee). And are you always connected, or do you feel the need to disconnect when you're not active (probably only if you pay by time online)?
