This thread is sounding more and more like a requiem for NavList.  Perhaps the 'old timers' have said all that they have to say to each other, but there is always another question to answer.  Telling a newcomer to "go look in the archives" simply won't do.  As wonderful as the archives are, nothing supplants direct conversation.  Answering a question with a series of links to the topic shuts down any give and take.  Many folks have indeed heard of Google and perhaps some can actually use it.  They don't need our help with that.  If we cannot answer with anything other than what Google can answer, then we are no longer relevant.  I refuse to go quietly.

I encountered the 'no more private mesaages' the other day and thought it odd.  Just a housekeeping thing, I thought.  I look forward to the new method and will try it out when it becomes available.
