The realistic range of altitude that can be measured is about 45 degrees, after that the top half of the bubble image in the scope is truncated by the mirror arrangement. I don't why the thing is graduated to 90 as that can never be reached. Some other models have the protractor limited to about 60 degrees. I will at some point try getting the index error by the multiple shot method you mention. The optics of the scope are such that only the brightest stars could be sighted. I am loving that GPS Anti Spoof app.
