I’m very interested in the details of how you did your recent checks.
What is the sensitivity of your machinist level, and how did you use it to determine the Abney error?
How do you define the ‘index error’, and is it to be added to, or subtracted from, the Abney measurement to get the corrected angle?
Is the ‘IE of 30” ‘ a typo, or did you actually get a 27.5’ difference in your two measurements using the machinist level?
How did you use the Abney with the water levels at the ends of your tubing to get the IE of 40’?
