I wrote earlier:
"The probability of a scrub (cancellation) tonight is relatively high. There's a lot at stake in terms of commercial and national reputation. I would give only 1-in-3 odds of a launch tonight..."
They should have scrubbed. Apparently after a successful first stage burn, the second stage failed. That probably means a major stand-down for Virgin Orbit, and possibly one of the other rocket companies (from one of the new launch sites in Scotland maybe) will win the credit for first successful satellite launch from the UK before the end of 2023.
