Glad you didn't sink, that is a terrible outcome in many ways.
Most, if not all of the equipment recommended is modern, tested electronics. Known to pull your lower hindquarters out of a jamb.
PLB Personal Locator Beacon
EPIRB Emergency Position Indicating Radio Beacon
VHF Very High Frequency (marine radio)
SAR Search And Rescue (personnel)
All but the last are highly recommended ditch equipment. You can leave the sextant behind.

My point of course, was that if the sun’s declination is zero, which it was this morning here, and it is on the Prime Meridian, and you make good allowances for refraction, semi-diameter, and dip, as described, longitude will be GHA + 90°.
