    Some quick notes from my own experiences with a Davis mk. 25:

    First, I've noticed the included scope has some issues with chromatic abberation, where the edges of the moon have a blue or red outline.  I suspect that would cause issues trying to measure to the nearest 0.1'.

    Secondly, pointing my cell phone camera at the sun through the shades indicates that they let a lot of infrared through even while reducing visible light to a comfortable level.  I'm anxious about using the scope to look at the sun with only those shades in front of it.
