My Silicone Oil (Polydimethylsiloxane) has arrived from eBay. It's meant for lubricating treadmills, and It looks more sluggish than any compass liquid I've ever seen. It's viscosity is quoted on the bottle as mm2s-1, cSt @25 degrees C 350. I.e. 350 centistokes at 25 degrees C???, about 350 times that of water. Will this be OK, or will it need thinning? If so, how? I've not studied viscosity since my finals in 1966. DaveP
