Hello all,
Just my opion. The Bygrave, Fuller, 10 in. slide rule, etc are all mechanical and at a fixed size. They are faster than pen and paper methods. I am a pilot and now the importance of speed at 450K true. BUT, now that I am retired and need reading glasses large size is better than speed. I cannot imagin trying to read the scales on any slide rule on a rocking boat.
I have enlarged Hanno's haversine table to large font ( four pages ) and have a solution form that is a full page. I can use a crayon to write with if needed.
We all march to a different tune - I like the feel of doing pen and paper math with the Hav Doiner. Now, twenty years ago I was the wiz kid on my EB-6 ( pilots round slide rule)
