Speed + simpicity of LOP reduction
If speed and simplicity of actions is important (e.g. single handed flight a la Chichester or the intrepid Mr LaPook!) then I go for the Bygrave (2 minutes, one writen down intermediate) or even better the Brown-Nassau (roughly 1 minute and no intermediate steps, but only accurate to about 5-10') .
Perhaps Gary could let us know his preferred option while flying a la Chichester? Is his flat Bygrave as easy to use as the cylindrical rule?
I would be interested to see an "arial" comparison of Bygrave cylinder rule v Bygrave flat, v Brown-Nassau (easy and cheap to build the prototype version in a couple of hours Gary, build details on request) v Hav Doniol.
Best wishes
Francis
