I ought to set the record straight. In my post of 11 March 2019 about the Appleyard Course and Distance Computer, I said : > " I see that the Imperial War Museum in the UK holds a 4-page document from 1918, “Description and use of the Air Speed Computer designed by Commander Rollo Appleyard R.N.V.R."
I have now viewed this document and it does not seem to be about the course and distance computer. The document concerns a different device that Commander Appleyard designed, intended to give an approximate true air speed based on the indicated air speed and altimeter height.
