A sextant once owned by Sir Arthur Rostron, skipper of Carpathia when she rescued Titanic survivors, has been sold for about $97,000. The auction was actually four years ago, but maybe I'm not the only one who had not heard about it. https://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-wiltshire-36062539 This has a better photo: https://www.foxnews.com/science/sextant-used-in-rescue-of-titanic-survivors-up-for-sale https://www.foxnews.com/science/titanic-treasures-sold-at-uk-auction Several more photos here, but (at least with the Firefox browser) I can't get them to enlarge: https://www.invaluable.com/auction-lot/r-m-s-titanic-sir-arthur-rostron-kbe-rd-rnr-m-246-c-02043fd943
