Shucks, just missed the auction! But I am interested in purchasing a reasonably priced Astrolabe (for 39N 77W) to fill-in my hopelessly deficient knowledge of this area of "celestial navigation"...was it used for navigation" I skipped the astrolabe era in favor of the sextant (and have too many of the latter), but I want to give the astrolabe (ἀστρολάβος) its full due. Any help?
