Aurora Visible in Southern Virginia?

I took these pictures at 37°16'42" N, 76°44'22" W at 1926 EDT (2326 UTC) on October 10th, facing roughly northeast. Within about 5 to 10 minutes, the phenomenon seemed to fade and was no longer visible. My phone camera automatically went into "night mode" which makes everything look much brighter than it does to the human eye. But it was bright enough to immediately draw my attention. I've never seen anything like it.
