A while ago I too thought of a feature request/suggestion for Frank's app, but I had forgotten about it until I read Peter's post. I had been reading through Gary LaPook's website about the Earhart mystery. Particularly the part about how she and Noonan were attempting a landfall at Howland. It occured to me that, if there were an option to use an "AP" lat./lon. in the app instead of one's GPS position, then the app could be used for the landfall procedure.
More info about this procedure can be found at Gary's site: https://sites.google.com/site/fredienoonan/
Or from this simple explanation he has linked there.
