The instructions for the Battenberg are in at least one of the many Admiralty Manuals of Navigtion.
Can't say which edition of which volume of the said AMoN. I had a Battenberg in my hand for a few brief moments after it had been used in a bridge instructional exercise some time in 1967. There was a recent Manual of Navigation, opened at an explanatory page, being waved about at the same time.
