    Sure. You should stick with the calculator you know. I was merely pointing out that the "has no batteries" attribute of a common slide rule is no longer unique. You can toss a solar-powered calculator in your sextant case, and, even if you ignore it for five years, it will work perfectly as soon as you bring it out into the sunlight.

    PS: According the Wikipedia, a slide rule is "also known colloquially in the United States as a slipstick." I have never heard that expression used once. So the word "colloquially" must have some colloquially distinct meaning in the Wikiverse.
