Bris sextant land use with artificial horizon

Hi,
I have just ordered some glasses to build a bris sextant. Since I live far from the sea I will appreciate if someone could give some directions to calibrate it making an artificial horizon. ( If it is possible).
I am not sure on how should I measure the angles with the sun or if the angles between the glasses should be wider than a regular bris sextant.
