There is no viable commercial market for this device. No sane manufacturer will devote resources, infrastructure and labor to produce this product. The sales volume simply isn't there. Further, there are no forces driving demand for this product.

Anyone wishing to make a few (dozen?) for potential sale to others will hardly be noticed, let alone attracting lawsuits demanding cease and desist orders. There is no viable economic rationale for such a suit. Who in their right mind would engage lawyers to protect such a tiny market?
Feel absolutely free to invest your time and effort into a small production run. Go wild!
If the price is right, I might actually buy one.
