Bob,
I just stated the obvious for comparing to the 180° - Y when Y > 90° for 90° + X - L = Y same name declination & Latitude.

This if/then statement is a little confusing to me.
For contrary name: 90° - X - L = Y Y<90° Y = Y
It seems like I don't need to be concerned for when Y = Y. That case rather takes care of itself. I think I might be more concerned about what to do when d and L have contrary names, and Y needs to be corrected/changed in some fashion.
Have I missed something here, or does the if/then statement need to be tweaked a little bit?
Thanks,
Bob
