Greg, offshore with a 4070-3, spherical trig, and reading glasses? Urp! Have you a supply of promethazine aboard? :-)

Francis,
I'll be doing an on the water test with the K&E 4070-3 10" today to see how hard it is to accurately manipulate the slide rule in a rocking sailboat using reading glasses. I'll post the results good or bad in a few days with a step by step for you.

Greg,
I’m really interested in trying the Bygrave formulae with my old school boy (1960s)Thornton 10”. I haven’t used it for years. Have failed miserably! If you have time, please send me a step by step example, including the slide rule moves. I would like to compare results against Otis King/trig tables, Bygrave and mini-Fuller.
What sort of accuracy are you getting with the 10”?
Best wishes
Francis
