Thanks for the thought your response represents. Having said that, I have made very limited use of the 2102D, and none whatever of the other. I do have one of each, and it seems to me that the 2102D would be simpler to use. Also. As I mentioned, my attempts at "celestial navigation" are rather limited in scope, essentially stand on the beach and determining my position as compared with the position my GPS unit gives. On good days, my calculated position usually falls within a couple of miles of electronic fix. Thanks for your attention.
