Thanks for finding an image. The CPU50A/P is certainly more sophisticated than the CP-300/U.

My first reaction to the green plate (not a part of the CP-300/U) is it might be related to the Equation of Time? It has that sort of lazy 8 spread out look to it. Just a wild guess.
