I found an 1828 Norie reference in the Mystic Seaport Museum’s Collections & Research digitized online documents collection. Perhaps it's similar to the Nori reference you found:
“Traverse Sailing New and Complete Epitome of Practical Navigation” Norie, J. W. 1828
