"The Slide Rule for Sea and Air Navigation" by JC Podmore is available in its original, brand new, pocket size hardback on this side of the pond for the astonishingly low price of £2.60, or thereabouts.
Podmore's slide rule of choice was the Blundell Harling Academy 504 which features in the book. Hard to find now, but I am lucky enough to have a pristine example, still in its original packaging.
