Ken, thanks for the details!
Just like Mr Redford - my collegue that told me about the film, - too did see a sextant for the firs time in his life. I browsed your site to show him pictures - which model it was. At first I selected a Mk3 as (as I'm told) the most popular article in a ditch-bag. No, he said, it had some holes in it. Then I browsed to Mk15 and he sort of recognised it.
