    Hi Mark,

I bought my Celesticomp ~27 years ago on June 25, 1996 for $279; great investment!

    >I had inquired of Celestaire if they might perhaps how long the installed almanac was good for?

The designer of Celesticomp stated in 2011 "good until 2100"; see below:

I called Mr. Celesticomp, John Watkins, tonight. He states that the Celesticomp V built in almanac is good until 2100. I doubt that I will be around then to prove it. My unit is completely mint. He spent about 20 min on the phone with me helping me figure out how to use it. Very friendly. I would guess from the way he sounds that he is in his 80s. I am amazed that I can call and get personal support on a product that was "thrown in" with a sextant that I bought with the receipt from 1993.

    Fair Tides,
