Frank's experiment is quite funny. It repeats the result of a test of the usefulness of AI in nautical research I had published last year in the Mariner's Mirror (se my post of Dec. 15, 2023): ChatGPT is dredging the rubbish floating around on the internet and turns it into formally right phrases eventually making up facts. In that it is not a step further than Joseph Weizenbaum's program "Eliza" 50 years ago.
