Re: Compare Methods: Lat/Lon Near Noon

    Dear Tony,

As you just suggested and after having exercised due diligence, my conclusion also is that my earlier named "Wilson's Method improved by a Russian Navigator" is definitely no less than a remarkable simplification by Mr James N. Wilson himself to his own original method, which is a quite remarkable accomplishment per se.

Accordingly in this historical domain my previous attachment is showing errors which require to be corrected.

Since a change of name for the Wilson's improved 2nd method has now become necessary in it, I am hereby re-naming both methods as :

    - The ORIGINAL "Wilson1" Method (Spring 1985) and :

    - The IMPROVED "Wilson 2" Method (25 March 2009), with this one actually being the "magic" one.

All this is reflected in the current attachment which is to remain my sole future reference.

Again, very long life to both the IMPROVED Wilson 2 Method and to the Frank E. Reed's FOLDED PAPER Method over the Centuries to come.

To Mr James N. Wilson : If your eyes ever cross these lines: Congratulations for your Improved LAN Method published in 2005 !

    Antoine M. Couëtte
