In 2001 my girlfriend and I were going to a lodge in Nunavut. We flew to Cambridge Bay and flew south from Cambridge Bay back to the mainland to the lodge. The flight south was in a deHavilland Beaver and it had GPS. The pilot went and got charts, entered the coordinates into his GPS and we took off. I noticed he seemed to be looking for the loge once we hit the mainland, and after we landed I noticed what the problem was. He entered decimal minutes when the GPS mode was degrees/minutes/seconds or the other way around (that’s where it is a bit fuzzy).
