This morning Venus, Jupiter, and Sirius looked very good. Venus and Jupiter were bracketing the Moon and Sirius was low in the western sky. The neat thing about daybreak for bright planets and stars is that they are alone and easy to identify with the naked eye. On this set of bubble octant observations Sirius was reduced as a Martelli time sight, Jupiter reduced as a Hansen ex-meridian, and Venus reduced by Dreisonstok Pub 208.
