Thanks for your response. Putting things in their proper order, I do not have any kind of Smart Phone. what I do have access to ate the following. a 4 + year old iPad, and a Windows 7 Professional laptop. I guess that in addition to being "old", I'm old fashioned too, computerwise. that said, degrees, minutes and tenths seem entirely adequate, given that that is all the accuracy found in Nautical Almanac. I will sit down with my Windows laptop and try to follow your suggestions. Thanks and merry x-mass.
