    I have not seen any more of these since the ones I used in the early '90s, at least not micrometer drum types.  I have seen some vernier sextants that use seconds, but vernier sextants are impossible to use anyway ;-)

    Thank you for the info and pix.  I had never seen a sextant reading in seconds.  My experence was with aircraft sextants and the five marine type that I own. None of the books that I have showed that type of readout.
