Is the Lat used when calculating the change in longitude (dLon = Dist x sin course / cos Lat) the original latitude (Lat0) or the adjusted latitude after adding the change in latitude (Lat = Lat0 + dLat/60)?

Sailing - method of solving the various problems involving course, distance, departure and destination points.

Dead reckoning - the determination without the aid of celestial observations of the position of a ship or aircraft from the record of the courses sailed or flown, the distance made, and the known or estimated drift. Currents and winds affect.

These formulae come from middle-latitude sailing. An approach.
