It doesn't matter. If you leave too much time between your DR position updates, your measurement errors in Course and Distance will comfortably outweigh any fine tuning of start Lat, middle Lat etc. Whereas If you do frequent DR updates, equally it doesn't matter. If you are sittng an exam, read the course notes and do what they say.
