Thank you for that comprehensive response.
This certainly clarified any misunderstandings I might have had. I also learned things I didn't know. I've been interested in Celestial Navigation for a long time. It's a fascinating subject. I like to read and watch videos about it, practice sight reduction, plot LOP. I am an armchair navigator.
I also actively fight off flat earthers on YouTube, yes, they are still a thing in 2024. In the comments section under videos I ask them to solve a CN problem by using only ''flat earth science''. Up to now none has tried, they either run away, deflect or give bogus excuses. Of course it's impossible to do, main reason being that Earth is not flat.
