    Hello Frank,

    I know clearly understand that the apparent altitudes (caused mainly by parallax differences) and the same Zn's were the reason why I was able to see the Eclipse at the Dallas area at that time. 

    By the way, during the peak of the eclipse, I was able to see Venus southwest from the Eclipse and its position makes sense based on the HC and ZN calculated by the USNO clone.
