I am jealous you are preparing your boat. Here we have snow and hail and gale force winds and I am putting off boat preparations.
I think Robin already pointed it out but Stansfield does plot examples of ellipses for the two LoP case. And it is worth repeating (as it is easy to miss) although the paper is on DF he quicly makes the approximation the objects are distant so he assumes errors parallel translate the LoPs, making it the same as the celestial nav case with different variances.
