I am studying using 2 books, Tom Cunliffe and Mary Blewitt. I am sure I have understood obtaining a fix using a selection of position lines/GHA/LHA/Dec/Hs/Ha/Ho then to sight reduction tables Hc. Compare Ho to Hc Intercept and Zn TOWARDS/AWAY etc

"Time Sights". I have googled and found an article Noon Sight Longitude by David Berson. If this is what you are referring to?. Determine the exact time of the Suns apogee which will enable us to determine GHA from the daily pages which in turn enables us to determine our longitude via time to arc conversion?. There is some discussion in the article about how best to determine the exact time of apogee which of course is the key to success here.
