This thread made me realise that sitting here in the southern hemisphere (at 41° S) I have a very limited view of the sun's motion. It rises in the east, crosses the meridian in the north and sets west My desk faces north so the sun rises on my right, crosses the meridian in front of me and sets on my left. It is so obvious that I have never thought about it. Until now...........
If I was at (say) latitude 10°S then for part of the year the sun would cross the meridian behind me in the south. It is a concept I have trouble getting my head around.
