On erasing plotting surfaces! especially small areas, without messing up other parts, the perfect tool comes to mind, going back to days of yore when I was a Draftsman. Erasing Shields, perhaps still available at artist supply shops. They were stamped sheet metal, with various size and shapes holes. They worked very well too. They used to cost next to nothing. Who knows about now.
