Compare to a pocket 6" slide rule ex-meridian reduction which isn't quite as precise but darn close. Formula: .52(t)(t)cos Lat cos dec / cos Ho
.52 (11.7)(11.7)(.76)(.92)/(.906) = 54.9' correction to add
24°57.5 + 23° 1.9' + 54.9' = 48° 54.3'
90° - 48° 54.3' = Lat 41° 5.7' S
