There is no reason to shoot the moon at night when other objects are available. The real reason to know how to do moon sights is to get a fix during daylight hours. But to be able to do this you must know how to reduce the sight and using the Air Almanac to do the corrections is much easier than using the NA, and the corrections make more sense and are easier to understand.
