According to my notes:

Vertex of the Great Circle Route

cos(Lat_v) = cos(Lat₁) ∙ sin(C)

sin(dLon) = cos(C) / sin(Lat_v)

-or-

cos(dLon) = tan(Lat₁) ∙ cot(Lat_v)
