Vice Adm. Aucoin, commander 7th fleet, reassigned. Aucoin's reassignment is tantamount to end of career. In the US Navy, its up or out. He is no longer headed up.

This was discussed here at the time it happened. The USS Fitzgerald collided with a merchant ship in 2017. It appears that there is more information on the causes, and it does not paint a good picture:
