Bob Goethe you wrote: On my phone, GPS Anti-Spoof typically reports an error-ellipse of ± 4 meters. Do others of you get a similar sized error ellipse? Or is this driven by the quality of the GPS receiver in my particular model of phone?

Does it not vary? I just switched mine on. It was still on Eltanin (I can only just remember why) and varying between +- 3 and 4 once it found some satellites. Frank will tell you best, but my guess, and it’s only a guess, is that it varies mainly with signal strength and satellite geometry (the dreaded PDOP? which I once sat an exam about but have long since forgotten). ‘Firmware’ might affect it slightly depending upon how your receiver deals with these. Usual caveat. DaveP
